Lifetime legislators have become enamored with the entitlements of their positions. This mentality has fueled the expansion of the federal government well beyond its constitutional limits. A ruling class of career politicians is precisely the condition which our Founders sought to prevent.

I support term limits, and I have pledged a bond to enforce my own. On March 19, 2010, I signed a bonded term limits pledge of $500,000, whereby I am obligated to fund $500,000 to the Sentinels of Freedom in the event I seek a term beyond ten (10) consecutive years in office as a Congressman. I believe ten years is adequate time to effect legislative change, as opposed to being just a "no" vote (or in the case of Congressman Himes, a "yes" vote for Pelosi).
