Opportunity on 'Gold Coast'

"When I met Rob Merkle a few weeks ago, my feelings about the Westport, Conn., businessman and conservative U.S. House hopeful were much like those of anyone who knows something about the Connecticut Republican Party: That the onetime Notre Dame football player was a young (40) owner of a personnel firm was impressive as was his solid cultural and economic conservatism , although history has shown a moderate-to-liberal GOPer favored as the party's nominee in Connecticut's 4th District (Fairfield County).

The Republican Conference has prepared analysis of President Obama’s address to Congress on health care rebutting several of his claims:
Quote: “And every day, 14,000 Americans lose their coverage. In other words, it can happen to anyone.”
Fact: The major coverage expansions in all the legislation being considered would not begin until January 2013—so according to the President’s own methodology, Democrat bills will allow more than 15 million additional Americans to become uninsured.

If you look past the scare tactics, hyperbole and fabricated numbers on both sides of the aisle in Washington, one inescapable fact remains: Our health care system has problems which need to be addressed. Costs have been rising much faster than inflation, and if this trend continues we will see unmanageable costs for healthcare in the not too distant future.
The current proposals being touted by the left put forth a government run healthcare program as a competitive “option” whose sole stated purpose is to force competition on the private sector. They further believe that an insurance “exchange” which is part of an estimated 52 new government healthcare bureaucracies, will somehow foster efficiencies in the private sector, and reign in costs. They further tell us that this will all be paid for by realized savings from Medicare, and a small tax on the rich.
After hearing Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny testify to the veracity of these claims, I took a hard look at the problems we are facing, and came up with a solution which fixes our current problem without any increase in government spending, taxes or bureaucracy.
